I have been to the European premiere of Stardust which took place
in the Odeon cinema at Leichester Square in London 3 October 2007. It was a
great evening. When I arrived at Leichester Sqare it was packed with people,
walking around or waiting to see their favorite star. I heard the film music
loudly through th speakers and it gave me chills. I had a hard time finding the
entrance but once I found it I waited till it was my turn to walk over the green
carpet. Once in the cinema I found out that I passed Charlie Cox twice, once in
the cue for the carpet and once on the carpet. But I did get a close up look on
Claudia Shiffer, who was supporting her husband Matthew Vaughn, the director of
the film. Once inside the big screen showed us what was going on outside. I saw
that I was a bit too early as Jonathan Ross and family arrived. On my chair I
found popcorn and a drink. After a while the stars were in and made a groupshot
at the entrance of the cinema. Then we saw them walking into our theatre. They
left through a side door and then Matthew Vaughn was announced. He introduced
Ricky Gervais to us and he made some great jokes before they introduced the rest
of the cast.

The first ones to get introduced were the 7 princes of Stormhold,
Mark Strong, Jason Flemyng, Mark Heap, Rupert Everett, David Walliams, Julian
Rhind-Tutt and Adam Buxton. After that Sienna Miller and Charlie Cox were
introduced. Matthew introduced Charlie as one of the few great talents under the
age of 30. He told us that most good British actors are over 30 and that there
hardly is any good actor under that age. After seeing the film I have to agree
with him, but more about that in the review part of the site.

Michelle Pfeiffer was the next to got introduced. And then we had
Take That on the stage. When they came on the roof of the cinema came down. The
audience made so much noise that it was hard to hear what was said on stage. But
it was great them on stage. Unfortunatly they didn't sing, but they were there
and that was worth a trip for many people in the audience. They all posed for
photo's and left the stage after a few minutes. Then it was time to see the
film. Time flew and when the film ended it got a huge applause. It was a
standing ovation for Stardust and well worth it. After that I left the cinema
and saw lots of people outside, probably waiting for the stars to come out. I
didn't wait to see that happen. I had a great evening and it was great to attend
a premiere. It was a night I never forget. The pictures on this page are all
taken by me, except for the picture on the top of the page.
